Spicy Red Lentil

Ingredients:

  • Red lentil 2 cups
  • National Salt as per taste
  • National Red Chilli Powder 1 tbsp
  • National Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
  • All spice powder 1 tsp
  • Red Kashmiri chili 1
  • Onion 1 small chopped
  • Tomato 1 chopped
  • Oil 1 tbsp

For Tarka:

  • National Red Chilli Powder half tsp
  • Desi ghee half cup
  • Curry leaves 6 to 7
  • Red button chilies 3 to 4
  • Green chili 2
  • Onion sliced 1 tbsp
  • National Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Directions

  • In a pot, add oil and onion, fry for a minute then add red Kashmiri chili.
  • Now add tomatoes, National salt, National Red Chilli powder, and National Turmeric powder.
  • Bhonify the masala, now add red lentils and 1 liter water, cover, and cook on medium-low flame till lentil gets mashy.
  • Mash them well, and add water if required.
  • Sprinkle all spice powder.
  • In a pan add desi ghee, curry leaves, red button chilies, and onion.
  • Fry till pink then add green chili and again fry till onions get golden brown color.
  • Now add National Red Chilli powder and National Cumin seeds and pour this Tarka on lentil gravy.
  • Yummy, hot, and spicy red lentil is ready.
  • Serve it with boiled Tarka rice.
