Custard Sawaiyan

I Made It

To make custard

  • Milk                                         750ml
  • National Mango Custard         ½ cup
  • Sugar                                       1 cup
  • Warm water                            ¼ cup
  • Gelatin                                     2tbsp

To make Siwaiyan

  • Ghee                                        2 tbsp
  • National Vermicelli                 1 cup
  • Milk                                         1 ltr
  • Sugar                                       1 cup
  • Sliced almonds/pistachios      50 gms


  • In a saucepan add milk, (reserving 1 cup for later use) and bring to a full boil
  • In a bowl mix reserved milk and whisk in National Mango Custard.
  • In another bowl mix well gelatin and warm water and keep aside.
  • Add gelatin mix and custard mixture in boiling milk and stir well.
  • To this add sugar and cook on medium low heat till thickens.
  • Pour in glasses and refrigerate for about 2 hrs or till well settles.
  • Add ghee in a pan and lightly toast National Vermielli
  • To this add milk and bring to a boil
  • Add sugar and cool
  • Now gently pour cooked siwaiyan over custard and refrigerate and served chill.
  • Garnish with almonds/pistachios
