Chicken karahi

Undoubtedly, one of the most delicious and comforting dishes to indulge in. Follow our recipe to make authentic Chicken Karahi from the comforts of your home.

I Made It


  • Chicken with bone, 500 gm (karahi cut)
  • Oil, ½ cup
  • Garlic paste, 1 tablespoon
  • Tomato puree, 1 cup (boil tomatoes and blend)
  • National karahi gosht masala, 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh green chilies, 2
  • Ginger, 1 tablespoon (julienne cut)
  • Water, ¼ cup (for chicken)
  • Fresh coriander chopped for garnish


  • Heat oil in an iron wok, then add chicken and fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add garlic paste and mix well for 1 minute.
  • Add water (¼ cup) and cook for 7-8 minutes so that chicken gets tender.
  • Add national karahi gosht masala and cook for 1 minute.
  • Now add tomato puree, ginger, and green chilies. Mix well and cook until gravy is left to half and oil is also separated from gravy.
  • Top with ginger, green chilies, and fresh coriander for garnishing before serve.
