Arabic Rice

I Made It


  • Rice 500 gm
  • Oil ¼ cup
  • Onion slices 1 medium
  • Ginger & garlic paste 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon slices 2 lemons
  • Cinnamon sticks 4 to 5
  • Green cardamom 4 to 5
  • National garam masala powder 1 teaspoon
  • National salt 1 tablespoon
  • National cumin seeds 1 tablespoon
  • Chicken powder 1 tablespoon
  • Water 1 to 1 ½ liter
  • Food color few drops


  • Put oil in a frying pan and heat it, fry onions and cook until light brown, then add ginger and garlic paste and fry for another minute.
  • Now add Lemon slices, cinnamon, small cardamom, National cumin seeds, National garam masala, salt and chicken powder and fry for a minute.
  • 3. Add water and cook spices for 20 to 30 minutes. When the water level remains half, then add rice in it and cook until water level becomes almost equal to rice.
  • Cover the pot and put the rice on a low flame for 10 to 12 minutes now sprinkle food color on rice and mix it slightly. Rice is ready to serve.
