Matar chawal

  • Peas 1/2 kg peeled
  • Onion 1 big
  • Tomato 1
  • Garlic paste 1tbsp
  • National Cumin 1 tsp
  • National Black pepper whole 1tsp
  • Clove 4
  • National red chili powder 1/ l2 tsp
  • Green chilies 6
  • National Salt to taste
  • Oil half cup
  • Rice half kg


  • In a pot heat oil and fry onion till translucent.
  • Now take out the onion and grind it with tomato and green chilies.
  • Pour this paste into the pot and fry add all the spices
  • Bhonofy little, add peas and a glass of water and cook till peas get tenderized.
  • Add rice and water according to the quantity of rice and cook.
  • When water evaporates leave on dum and serve it with raita, chutney, and salad.
