Ingredients:

  • chickpeas 250 grams
  • Meetha soda 1tsp
  • National Salt as per taste
  • Yellow food 1/4 tsp
  • Red chili flakes 1tsp
  • National Red chili powder 1tsp
  • Imli pulp 1/4 cup
  • National Turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
  • National Chat masala 1tbsp
  • National Black paper powder 1/4 tsp
  • Roasted and crushed cumin seeds
  • Corn flour 2tbsp
  • Sliced Onion 1 big
  • Boiled Potatoes 2 cubes
  • Coriander leaves 1 cup
  • Papri as required

Directions

  • In wok /pan add boiled chickpeas & put enough water and boil again.
  • There should be two cups water remaining after they get boiled.
  • Now add boiled potato cubes and all the National spices , food color, cumin seeds, imli pulp except corn flour , onions and fresh coriander leaves.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste. In a bowl mix cornflour with some water and pour it slowly in cholay till you get the right consistency.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • Mix sliced onions when hot. Sprinkle coriander leaves and serve it hot with papri.
