Cherry Blossom Custard Tarts

Recipe Cusine:



  • For tart base:
  • 200 grams all purpose flour
  • 25 grams national strawberry custard powder
  • 1/4th tsp salt
  • 125 grams room tempered butter
  • 80 grams grinded sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/4th tsp strawberry essence.
  • Strawberry creamy custard
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3tbsp national strawberry custard powder
  • 5tbsp sugar
  • 1/4th cup milk
  • Half cup cream
  • Melted milk chocolate for edible trees
  • Fondant flowers


For Tart Base
  • Sieve all the dry ingredients
  • Beat butter and sugar till creamy and sugar dissolves. Add in yolks and essence and beat again.
  • Add dry ingredients and beat until combine. Use your hands to knead the dough a little. Add 1 or 2tbsp more flour if dough gets sticky.
  • Divide dough and bake in greased tart pans for 15 to 20 minutes at 160 degrees until the edges turn light golden in color. Let them cool completely.
  • Strawberry Creamy Custard
  • Boil milk with sugar.
  • Dissolve custard powder in 1/4th cup milk.
  • Add in milk and stir well.
  • Cook for 2 minutes then turn off the flame.
  • Let it cool for 10 minutes then add cream and stir.
  • Let it cool for more 10 minutes then pour in tart shells.
  • Decorate with edible cherry blossom trees and enjoy
