We often make this chaat in ramadan and in monsoon season with evening tea


  • 1 cup boiled black chickpeas
  • 1/3rd cup oil
  • 6 to 8 curry leaves
  • 1tbsp Chickpea flour
  • 1.5tsp national red chili powder
  • 1tsp zeera powder
  • 2tsp chili sauce
  • 1tsp national salt
  • 1/4th cup tamarind pulp
  • 1tbsp vinegar
  • Around 1 glass water or as required
  • 2 to 3 boiled potatoes(cubed)


  • Heat oil add curry leaves and cook till aroma arrives. Add boiled and drained chickpeas and cook for two minutes
  • In a bowl mix all spices, chickpea flour and gradually add water. Mix till chickpea flour dissolves completely
  • Add this mixture in chickpeas and mix. Add chili sauce, soya sauce and tamarind pulp following with potato cubes and mix. Cover and cook for 5 to 10 minutes on medium slow heat
  • Garnish with coriander. Serve with papri and sev
