Ingredients:

  • Basmati rice half kg
  • Tomatoes 2 large
  • Onion 1 medium size
  • National Ginger and Garlic paste 1 tbsp heaped
  • Potatoes 2 large
  • Cumin seeds 1/2 tbsp
  • Crushed red chilies 1 tbsp
  • National Salt according to taste
  • Yogurt 1/2 cup
  • National Red Chili Powder 1tsp
  • National Coriander powder 1/2 tbsp
  • Whole spices 1.5 tbsp
  • Oil 1/2 cup
  • Green chilies 3 to 4 whole
  • Green coriander 2 to 3 tbsp chopped

Directions

  • First heat up the oil in a pot and add onion. When it turns slightly brown, add National Ginger Garlic Paste and fry it for 2 seconds then add tomatoes and all spices including yogurt.
  • Cook all the ingredients well until the oil comes up.
  • Then add potatoes with water and let them turn almost 90% tender. After that, add soaked rice and add more water to cook the rice if required.
  • At last add green chilies and green coriander and leave the rice to steam for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • And serve!
